A police surveillance video taken the night Trayvon was shot dead shows no blood or bruises on Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch captain who says he shot Trayvon after he was punched in the nose, knocked down and had his head slammed into the ground.
In exclusive video obtained by ABCNews, Zimmerman steps out of the police car while officers search him:
The surveillance video, which was obtained exclusively by ABC News, shows Zimmerman arriving in a police cruiser. As he exits the car, his hands are cuffed behind his back. Zimmerman is frisked and then led down a series of hallways, still cuffed.
Zimmerman, 28, is wearing a red and black fleece and his face and head are cleanly shaven. He appears well built, hardly the portly young man depicted in a 2005 mug shot that until a two days ago was the single image the media had of Zimmerman.
Zimmerman's friends had evidently fabrigated a self-defence scenario by using the media to promote the following: “With a single punch Trayvon Martin decked the Neighborhood Watch volunteer, climbed on top and slammed his head into the sidewalk several times, leaving him bloody and battered. That is the account Zimmerman gave police and much of it has been corroborated by witnesses,” the Orlando Sentinel reported, having heard from police sources.
Isn't that what you call obstruction of justice?
Even 911 calls make a mockery of the claim that George reacted in self-defense when shooting the unarmed teen in the chest and killing him.
The tapes confirm witness reports of Trayvon screaming for help as multiple shots were fired. The community remains outraged as George, who was commanded during the call not to approach the young man, continues to roam free.
911 tapes detail moments of terror in the neighborhood as residents made a flurry of calls describing a gunshot and a teen wailing for help.
In some of the recordings, a voice screams "Help, help!" in the background.
"There were gunshots right outside my house. There's someone screaming, I just heard a guy shot," a neighbor says. "Hurry up, they are right outside my house."
Recordings mirrored the same details: A man outside was crying for help, followed by the sound of a gunshot.
"Hurry please ... there's someone screaming outside," a neighbor whispers. "There's a gunshot, hurry up ... there's someone screaming. I just heard a gunshot."
In another call, a woman begs the dispatchers to send help, saying someone is "screaming and hollering" for help.
Moments later, she describes a light at the scene of the shooting.
"Oh my God ..." she said, "There's still somebody out there walking with a flashlight."
Zimmerman told police he shot the teen in self defense, authorities said, and remains free as the state attorney investigates. Police said he has not been charged because there are no grounds to disprove his story of what happened.
Most people acknowledge that it's sad that there has yet to be an arrest.
This case is not about racism, it isn't a black or white issue, it's about systemic, organized corruption and how influential people like retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate Judge Robert Zimmerman do not let the facts get in the way of their bidding.
The entire world is now aware of the fact that George Zimmerman, the self-appointed neighborhood watch captain, tracked down and killed 17-year old Trayvon Martin and that there is no legitimate excuse for releasing him after he was arrested.
Not surprisingly, the FOX News team that gave Zimmerman a propaganda platform did not get around to mentioning that the elder Zimmerman is, in fact, a retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate Judge. While his current status is not relevant, the fact that Judges (former or not) like Zimmerman are not prosecuted for acting like they are above the law (obstructing justice) is a widely overlooked tragedy and that needs to change.
This case will not be adequately resolved until both father and son receive the justice they deserve.
The security camera footage shot inside the police station directly contradicts a police report written that night, and seeing is believing.
Robert Zimmerman gave an interview to the Orlando Fox affiliate, telling the station that his son had no choice but to kill Trayvon or risk being beaten to death.
“Things were not going to go well. One of them was not going to walk away,” he said. “I hope at one point everyone will go beyond the hate. At some point when all this settles, they’ll say, ‘George Zimmerman is a pretty nice guy.”
What a fascinating insight into the mind of somebody who is supposed to have respect for the law.
Psychotic experience is about feeling that everything contains hidden, threatening meanings. In the mind of a psychotic, life is a realm of anxiety and danger. Can you connect the dots? If or when he is arrested again, perhaps Zimmerman should drop the self-defence excuse and plead insanity because the facts are far more convincing in that regard. But then again, the most obvious explanation is that Zimmerman consciously and deliberately concocted a phony alibi to evade the legal consequences of his actions.
"Anyone who's seen a broken nose is aware of the fact that the blood spurts. That leads to a lot of bleeding. You would have expected to see blood on the front of George Zimmerman's shirt collar. Blood -- you know, in many more places," said Marcia Clark, the former prosecutor in the O.J. Simpson trial.
As long as people like Robert Zimmerman successfully exercise the power and the influence to adjust the obvious truth, George Zimmerman will never be brought to justice.
According to a records search on George, he was previously arrested for domestic violence, resisting an officer without violence and most shockingly, resisting an officer with violence — a felony charge that should have landed him in prison.
All three of those arrests, however, were mysteriously closed with no semblance of charges for the Florida resident. So how was someone with a violent past including that of battery against an officer able to carry a 9 mm handgun? Maybe that’s a question Robert Zimmerman should answer.
The lead homicide investigator in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin recommended that neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman be charged with manslaughter the night of the shooting.
But Sanford, Fla., Investigator Chris Serino was instructed to not press charges against Zimmerman because the state attorney’s office headed by Norman Wolfinger determined there wasn’t enough evidence to lead to a conviction.
There is no reason to expect that George Zimmerman will not be able to act like he is above the law, again.
In this case, the selective leaking of information tells a story and it is crystal clear. The rush to smear Trayvon makes this case less about justifiable homicide and self-defense and more like someone trying to protect the privileged son of a retired Virginia Supreme Court Magistrate Judge.
